University Events and Experiences

During my early years at West Virginia University, I was a key member of the Office of University Events within the President's Office, where I organized all presidential events, both public and private. From intimate two-person dinners to multi-day commencement ceremonies hosting over 20,000 attendees, I excelled as the creative director, meticulously planning events that highlighted the first families of the university and their guests.

A significant aspect of my role was overseeing and coordinating events held at the President's residence, Blaney House. I had the honor of working with two different presidents during my tenure, allowing me to develop distinct styles and programming that reflected their unique personalities. One president was younger and family-oriented, while the other embraced tradition, with a passion for innovation and a flair for less formal, engaging events.

My focus was always on ensuring that guests felt the president's personal touch in every detail of each event, from the invitations to the departure gifts. We welcomed approximately 2,500 guests through the doors of Blaney House each year. On average, we successfully produced 55 events in the president's home, along with an additional 30 on campus and at various locations nationwide.
